At Freedom Acres, we have yet to find foods that are more ecologically and environmentally friendly than pasture raised poultry and grass-fed beef and dairy. Implementing biological production models, our pasture raised livestock turns regenerative grass into the highest quality meat and dairy products with very little external inputs. Well managed, rotationally grazed pastures and chemical-free farming practices enhance the soil quality and increase the biological life in the soil. Soil life and quality, in turn, determines the vigor and health of plants, grazing animals, and of course the consumers of such plant and animal products. Perennial grasslands eliminate the need for tillage, the primary cause of soil erosion and degradation. With perennial agriculture systems (or permaculture) we are improving and building our soils instead of degrading and mining them as most annual agriculture does.
