Environmentally Enhancing Agriculture

There is simply no excuse for any type of agriculture that degrades the environment. We do not believe in a “trade-off” mentality when it comes to food production. In other words, we do not believe that in order to produce enough food for the world population we need to sacrifice environmental quality. What we want are farming models that actually leave the environment better than it was before we came. We want the soil more fertile, the landscape more diverse, the forest healthier, and the wildlife more prolific. And yes, we do believe people can improve upon “pristine” nature. This might make a government-has-all-the-answers environmentalist shudder, I know, but the injection of the human mind and labor into a landscape can make it far better than it was as long as the changes are within the parameters of proper environmental considerations: clean air, clean water, and healthy plants and animals. Our goal as a farm is to produce food of unsurpassed quality while enhancing and improving the elements we’re using to do it.
